Head Coach: Courtney Mulligan
Courtney has been a valued member of the GRAHA girls coaching team for the last 4 seasons where she has served as an assistant coach. Courtney grew up on the East side of the State playing Tier I girls hockey. She finished her playing career at Davenport University as the team captain. While at Davenport she got her degree in Human Resources Management and now works as a HR Coordinator/Recruiter.
Assistant Coaches: Nichole Werkema
Nichole has been a valued member of the GRAHA girls coaching team for the last 4 years. Before coaching for GRAHA she spent 4 years coaching youth hockey in West Michigan. Nichole finished her playing career at Davenport University.
Assistant Coaches: Asher Printzen
Asher will be joining our girls coaching staff this season. She grew up playing Tier 1 hockey and played her first 2 years at NCAA DIII Curry College. She then transferred and was an impact player for two seasons on Michigan State's ACHA D1 team. Over her two years at MSU she put up 52 points over 48 games! Asher is excited for the opportunity to share her love for the game through coaching.

More Information
GRAHA Griffins Girls has the oldest and largest girls hockey program in the West Michigan area. We offer both Tier 2 Travel and Tier 3 programs for ages 8U through 19U. All girls teams participate in the Michigan Girls Hockey League (MGHL).
Teams will usually practice 2-3 times per week, play games primarily on weekends and travel to 3 or 4 out-of-town tournaments during the season.
Tryouts for FALL TEAMS 10U, 12U and 19U HS teams will be held the week of May 19th. Click on the document below for dates and times at Griffs Icehouse.
Ages
Griffins Girls Hockey is available for the following age groups:
Tier 2: 10U-19U
Tier 3: 8U, 12/14U, 19U
When
Tryouts for the fall season are in mid-late May. Equipment and apparel fittings are in June, and pre season ice begins in August for most teams. The regular season will begin in early September and run through early-mid March.
Where
Practices and home games will be held at Patterson Ice Center or Griffs Ice House. Away games could be as far east as Toledo, OH and as far north as Traverse City.
Tournaments are typically in the Michigan area, but could be in IL, IN, or OH depending on the team.
Costs
Costs for Travel teams vary by team and full budgets will be available prior to Tryouts in the spring. Team fees will include practice ice, home games, officials, tournament fees, and coaching fees. They will not include jersey and equipment fees, apparel and travel expenses such as hotels.
Practices
Teams typically practice on the ice for 3 hours per week. This can be done in three 1 hour sessions or two 90 minute sessions.
Each team will have their practice schedule depending on coaching availability.
Games
10U Approx. 45 games per season
12U Approx. 55 games per season
14U Approx. 65 games per season
16U Approx. 65 games per season
19U Approx. 65 games per season
Travel to games will depend on alignments in the MGHL and what teams are most competitive.
Tournaments
Every team will compete in at least 3-4 tournaments. Older teams such as 14U Tier 2 could compete in as many as 6 tournaments over the course of the season.
Team budgets will include tournament fees but they will not include the travel costs such as hotels or food.
